Saving Animals Is as Easy as ABC
This month, tell kind people everywhere that saving animals is as easy as ABC: animal birth control. Every year, 6 to 8 million unwanted dogs and cats enter U.S. animal shelters, and approximately half of those animals are put to death because there are not enough good homes for them. But there is hope, and it lies in prevention and education. Caring people like you can help by asking others to spay and neuter their companion animals and always adopt rather than buy from breeders or pet stores.
What You Can Do
* Ask your friends and family members to sign PETA's pledge to end animal homelessness by always spaying and neutering their companion animals and adopting animals rather than buying them from breeders or pet stores.
* Share PETA's new ABC videos on your MySpace page, blog, or personal Web site. You can even "stream" and post them on other sites.
* Hang up ABC posters around town to show your community why animal birth control is so important.
* Take some time to hand out PETA's "Help Us End Animal Homelessness" leaflets to members of your community. Fill out this form, and we will send you 50 leaflets. If you can use more materials or if you have a special request, please include that in the additional-requests section of your order form.
