The coalition is preparing charges against the owners of five or six animal shelters as well as the mayors of the concerned towns and the veterinary authorities in charge (ASL).
Specified charges:
Organized cruelty to animals
Physical and other mistreatment
Violation of sanitary regulations
Violation of the duty of supervision
Spreading of zoonoses (contagious diseases, as leishmaniasis)
Suspicion of fraud
Suspicion of corruption
A long list of violations against national and regional laws concerning animal shelters, registration, adoptions, a.s.o.
"Torture-Tours":
The coalition organizes an educational trip for tourists ‘Torture in Puglia’ – a journey to selected animal shelters of the region including visits of responsible mayors and government appointed veterinarians. The eyes of Europe look at Puglia’s animal shelters. Be an eye-witness and demonstrate that Europeans care about the fate of animals. In Italy and in the media of a number of European countries your participation will point out that we will cease turning our eyes away from the misery. The highlight of the approximately four day tour will be an organized adoption event on site: We will empty out one of the animal shelters completely. The ‘tourists’ will ‘adopt’ all of the dogs kept there on the spot. After that, we will treat the animals medically and take them to temporary homes; from there their final adoptions will be organized.
PARTICIPATION IN THE TOUR:
WANTED: 30 to 40 dedicated participants
TRAVELLING TIME: November 9 to November 14, 2008
CONDITIONS: We organize local transports and accommodation in a local agrotourismo.
EXPENSES: Trip to BARI or BRINDISI airports, or LECCE train station at the own expense of the participants.
CATERING: Participants and organizers will share the cost.
TOUR GUIDANCE in two languages (German/Italian). Visits of animal shelters and responsible individuals will be organized.

Immediate and peaceful action
We are looking for young and engaged individuals from Germany, Austria and Switzerland for a peaceful but straightforward campaign on site. We guarantee for a reliable and serious preparation and transaction of the event and an experienced guide leading through it.
For legal reasons, the age of the participants is important. WE ARE LOOKING FOR TEENS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 who want to stand in against the misery in Italian animal shelters. A declaration of consent by their parents will be necessary.

Participation of interested individuals
All associations and individuals supporting our cause are invited to come to southern Italy in November 2008 and be part of our activities, demonstrations and trips.
